I much prefer those colours too. Everything’s made to blend into the background now, to be used and not seen. That’s? a shame. I bet most of the recent stuff won’t be around in 30 years.

@G0IFI? I don’t know I love the Silver face and the wood grain It dosen’t get any better LOL Wish Times were as good as when this Rig was New 73′s Thanks for the comment
They made those base radios? to look right at home next to the hifi and the vcr, in that 80s style. I wonder when it was black became the colour for home entertainment accessories?
@mohelidude I hear that I have 2 of them now the one i just got works great other than the clock reads out crazy sometimes I may get it fixed and put her on ebay I have been trying to sell some of the radios i have doubles of but i love the old things and sometimes it is? hard to part with them 73′s
I’ve found three Wards mobile CBs over the past few? months at flea markets. They are awesome radios and definitely LOUD! They operate just as well… if not better… than my fairly new Cobra 29 LTD Classic. I’ve never found one that didn’t work perfect on first try. Wards CBs are quickly becoming some of my favorites… especially when they only cost me 10 bucks each!
Very cool looking radio!!!
Sears Pennys, wards, Kraco, GE,? ect ect made some really really neat CB rigs back in the day!
My fave are the old Sears Roadtalker rigs especially the 40CH Am/SSB one that has the AC/DC in one rig.

Montgomery Ward and JCpenny both made some very nice radios. I believe they has Cobra/Uniden boards in? them and they were full of features.features
